Cookie Policy

How SEA CHEF LTD uses cookies and similar browser technologies.

Last updated: 17 May 2026

About This Policy

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We also use similar browser storage technologies where needed (for example local storage). This policy covers the customer-facing Sea Chef ordering website.

Technologies We Use Right Now

We currently use the following technologies:

  • `sea-chef-order-session-v1` (local storage): keeps your basket and order draft while you browse and checkout.
  • `sea-chef-cookie-consent-v2` (local storage): stores that you have seen and acknowledged the cookie notice.
  • PostHog cookies and browser storage, usually beginning with `ph_`: helps us understand website usage, diagnose errors, and receive operational browser logs such as checkout or contact-form failures.

We use Stripe for online card payments. When you are redirected to Stripe Checkout, Stripe may use its own cookies and similar technologies under Stripe's own policies.

Strictly Necessary Technologies

Basket storage, cookie notice storage, authentication cookies for the admin area, and payment-processing technologies are strictly necessary for core functionality such as basket persistence, checkout flow, and payment processing.

Analytics And Logging

We use PostHog to measure how the site is used, spot errors, and collect operational logs from important browser flows. These logs are used to keep the ordering website reliable and are not intended to store card details, passwords, full message contents, or basket item notes.

PostHog may set cookies or use local storage to remember a visitor or browser session. You can restrict or delete these through your browser settings, although this may reduce our ability to diagnose problems.

Browser Controls

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential technologies may stop checkout or basket features from working properly.
